GREENVILLE, Ga. -- A police officer's Facebook post about a recent call for service is spreading love across the country.

Kenneth Knox is an officer with Greenville Police Department and wrote a Facebook note about his experience after saving a child from choking.

In the post Knox writes about responding to the call and seeing a 2-month-old "turning blue and fading fast."

After mom and dad tried CPR he wrote, " the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY touched me and I knew what to do. I did reverse cpr and was able to suck the cereal out of her throat and she began breathing again. she smiled at me for a second and then starting crying which was music to my ears."

He said this event made his 25 years of being an officer "worth it."

That post was shared more than 60,000 times across the country.

In another post, the officer said he was asked to be the two-month-old's godfather.

"I swear I will forever be your guardian and love you with all my heart. I will be there for your first day, when you graduate school AND COLLEGE, and even what ever you want my little angel," Knox wrote on October. 9.

He is also running for Meriwether County Sheriff.
