Ansel Adams is one of the most renowned photographers of all time, and his work will be on display Friday at the Art Museum of South Texas.
Kiii News Photojournalist David Gonzalez spoke with Michael Adams, Ansel Adams' son, about his father's work on Wednesday.
"He was a very personable individual. He was very caring and he was supportive of amateur photographers," Adams said. "This exhibit has photographs from all aspects of Ansel's life. There are some of the teens up to some of the latest printed."
"We as Corpus Christians, as Texans and Americans, we have a unique opportunity to see works from Ansel Adams that really don't get released in this spread," said Deborah Fullerton Dunn, curator of the Art Museum of South Texas.
"His most famous image, which is in the exhibit, Moonrise New Mexico," Michael Adams said. "I was with him when he took that, and that was at the time, I didn't know what it was, but in later days it became a very well-known image."
The photographs on display at the museum are from the personal collection of Ansel Adam's son and his wife Jeanne. The exhibit opens Friday.
