Nearly all of our local political candidates gathered at City Hall Wednesday for a traditional drawing to determine their placement on the ballot in the upcoming City Council election.

Some political experts say that being the first politician on a ballot could be worth as much as two-percent of the vote.

In the four-person mayor's race, Dan McQueen with the Army Depot landed that coveted number one spot. The incumbent, Nelda Martinez, picked the number three ball.

Early voting begins Oct. 20, and election day is Tuesday, Nov. 4.
