CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii Sports) - The Corpus Christi Fury will be the new kids on the block, or rather at the American Bank Center this Spring.

The Fury replace the Hammerheads as the South Texas' indoor football team. The team held an introductory press conference Thursday, the same week that the Hammerheads ceased operations. Though they are separate entities, the Fury have a lot of carryovers from the Hammerheads including Head Coach LaDaniel Marshall who was a former Hammerheads' player and coach and G-M Robert Wehling who held the same role.

The Fury will be logging the miles this season as part of the Ultimate Indoor Football League (UIFL). The league currently consists of seven teams, the majority of which are in the southeast in Florida and Georgia. The Fury will open their season on the road against the Miami Sting on March 1st, with the home opener set for March 17th against the Georgia Rampage.
