Corpus Christi Independent School District board members were given an update Monday on just how much property value estimates have increased over the last year.

It means good news for the City and County, but it could mean bad news for taxpayers.

Kiii News Reporter Bill Churchwell went Live from the CCISD headquarters with the details.

Chief Appraiser Ronnie Canales gave a presentation to school board members outlining the preliminary numbers. He said the increase means that, economically, we are doing well, and that we are seeing a lot of growth in the city and county; however, since appraisal values up, it could mean higher taxes.

Final numbers are expected on July 25.
