Starting next week, the City of Corpus Christi may be announcing some new water restrictions as a result of our lake levels nearing a combined capacity of 40-percent. Reaching 40-percent automatically triggers Stage 2 of our City's drought contingency plan.

City officials say the continuing drought may be forcing us to take action yet again, adding that right now, we are at least six inches behind our normal rainfall level and our watershed is not getting enough moisture to supply our lakes.
