After spending nearly two weeks at the Valley Baptist Medical Center in Harlingen, there is word, Councilwoman Priscilla Leal will be released from the hospital Wednesday.

According to family members, Leal will return to Corpus Christi to undergo intensive rehabilitation at a local facility. Family members say Leal has a long journey ahead of her and continue to ask for prayers.

It was Friday, January 10th when Councilwoman Leal suffered a severe stroke and was taken to an emergency room in Corpus Christi. She was taken by helicopter to Valley Baptist Medical Center for treatment. While there, a neurosurgeon removed a blood clot and implanted a stent in her brain.
