Corpus Christi police arrested a 32-year-old man Saturday evening after he allegedly assaulted a woman at a home in the 900 block of Behmann Street.
Police said it was just before 10 p.m. when they were dispatched to the scene. When they arrived they made contact with the 34-year-old female victim, who said she and her boyfriend had got into an argument and it became physical. She said he punched her in the face, pushed her into a window and threw her to the ground. He then continued hitting her in the face and choking her until she blacked out for a moment.
Police said the victim had bruising on her arm and redness on her neck.
When police contacted the suspect, 32-year-old Michael Jameson, they said he appeared intoxicated and acted as if nothing had happened. He was arrested and upon searching him, officers found a plastig baggie in his sunglasses case containing several pills. Jameson was additionally charged with possession of a controlled substance.
