The search for a suspect in a brutal stabbing ended Friday in a foot chase and arrested on this city's northside.
The incident happened Wednesday in the 1400 block of Martin Luther King Drive. At the time it was considered aggravated assault, but the charge was upgraded to murder when the 47-year-old victim was declared clinically dead on Thursday.
The victim, who suffered stab wounds to the neck, is an organ donor and is being kept on life support until his organs can be harvested.
The 22-year-old suspect was found hiding in the closet of a home on Peabody Avenue after a foot chase through the area. Police said the suspect was wanted on other unrelated charges as well.
Police said a 16-year-old female was also arrested, but it is not yet known what charges she may face.
