Veterans gathered at Del Mar College for what is called Entrepreneurship Boot Camp on Wednesday.
It is an opportunity for veterans to learn the ins and outs of starting their own business.
The boot camp provides training for veterans who want to go into business for themselves. The basic goal is to increase employment rates among veterans.
"Veterans have a higher unemployment than the general population, so one of the options is to create their own business, and this is providing them the opportunity to create business," said Jim Reid of the Entrepreneurship Boot Camp. "Or for veterans who are already in business, to grow their business, so they can hire other veterans."
Organizers said there is a wide range of business opportunities out there for veterans. The training focuses on the Three Ms; managing, marketing and money.
