Wednesday will be the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s famous "I Have a Dream" speech, and the local NAACP is hosting a city-wide celebration to commemorate it.
The event is called "United We Stand," and it starts at 7 p.m. with a rally at Elizabeth and Ocean Drive. A march will then take the group to Cole Park. T-shirts will be handed out to the first 1,000 people who show up.
The rally and march are being touted as the largest commemoration event being held in the State of Texas. Kiii-TV is a proud sponsor of the event.
