Crystaline Rodriguez and her children fight to hold back tears....as they stare at the charred remains of their home in Petronila.
Rodriguez and her five kids were out of town Saturday afternoon when their home was devoured by flames. All that's left is a pile of dust and ashes. The family's dog and cat also died in the fire.
Fire crews battled the brush fire for most of the afternoon on Saturday off of County Road 22. It left more than 30 acres of land..charred. Investigators say it started because someone living nearby was burning trash. The winds eventually carried the flames to the Rodriguez's home and another house. Now, this single mother of five is left with nowhere to turn.
An account will be set up for the family on Monday. Stay with News 3 for information on how to donate.
