The March of Dimes is partnering with 211 Texas to launch the "Go Before You Show" campaign to help educate women on the importance of prenatal care during the first trimester.

The campaign will provide the educational material to local social service agencies that work with women in regards to pregnancy.

March of Dimes Executive Director Sara Longoria truly understands the benefits of visiting your doctor during the first trimester -- she's eight months pregnant. She said she was sick her first weeks of pregnancy, and her doctor helped her and her baby stay healthy.

"Had I not had prenatal care, I may have not been taking vitamins," Longoria said. "I may have not been knowing what I should be doing to keep my baby healthy during those first three months when I was not doing so well.

Pregnant woman who don't get prenatal care in the first trimester have a 30-percent chance of losing their child.
