CORPUS CHRISTI (Kiii Sports) - The Hooks lost their shot at clinching a playoff spot on Friday early on, but that didn't stop them from providing some late fireworks for those fans that got to see some extra baseball.

Corpus Christi and the Midland RockHounds finished up Thursday's game after it was suspended due to a power failure. The RockHounds came back and won 4-2, ending the Hooks' shot at clinching a playoff spot Friday.

But the Hooks responded in emphatic fashion in the regularly scheduled game, coming back and winning 7-6 on a walk-off homer from Jon Singleton. Corpus Christi manager Keith Bodie was ejected earlier in the game while arguing a play at the plate.

The Hooks' magic number for making the playoffs is down to just 2 (combo of CC wins and San Antonio losses). They can clinch that postseason berth Saturday night win a win over visiting San Antonio. First pitch is set for 6:05 pm.
