Law officers in Jim Wells County are helping to make the holidays a little brighter for families there. On Friday, dozens of families stopped by the jail to pick up a black bag. Inside were toys for their children.

The toy drive was put on by the Jim Wells County Sheriff's Office. They began taking donations last month, and were able to help nearly 100 families.

"I think it's great for them to give to the people who can't afford that much," said Angie Ramos, a single mother of four.

"I think it's a nice thing, because a lot of people are struggling to get their kids gifts, and I'm very grateful they helped me," said Rosalina Tamez.

In order to take part, parents had to apply with the Sheriff's Office weeks before the toy drive.
