After serving the community for almost three years, first as police chief and then as assistant city manager, Friday was Troy Riggs' last day on the job.
"I'm torn about leaving, because there is so many good things coming to Corpus Christi in the near future," Riggs said.
At City Hall Friday afternoon, they held a going away party. Among the speakers on hand to send Riggs off were current Police Chief Floyd Simpson, Fire Chief Robert Rocha, and the man that appointed Riggs as assistant city manager in the first place, City Manager Ron Olson.
Riggs will be leaving to take over as the public safety director in Indianapolis. His first day on his new job will be Oct. 29.
