A supplier fair for companies hoping to land business contracts with TPCO America was held Wednesday evening at the Solomon P. Ortiz Center.

TPCO America, a Chinese pipe making facility, is currently building one of the biggest new industrial plants near Gregory, and is set to bring $3 billion to the Coastal Bend over the next 10 years.

Local vendors took advantage of the first of several opportunities to display their services at the supplier fair, where Kiii News Reporter Brian Burns went Live with the details.

The company has already built a 200,000 square foot finishing facility in Gregory, and on Wednesday morning, they announced the start of phase two, which will be a 1.3-million square foot pipe mill. The largest building will take a couple of years to build, providing as many as 1,000 jobs.

The supplier fair was the first of several for the $1.1 billion project. J.J. Johnston, Director of Administration for TPCO America, joined Brian Burns Live with more information.
