The Nueces county medical examiner is working to identify a motorcyclist killed Saturday night after being struck by a vehicle.
That accident happened just before 9 p.m. on Staples and Casa Linda --near Ray High School. According to investigators, the 23-year old was riding the bike when they were hit. The driver of the car that struck the motorcycle took off before officers could arrive.
The victim --who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident-- was transported to Christus Spohn Shoreline Hospital with serious injuries when they later died.
Investigators are still searching for the driver who struck the motorcyclist. Witnesses describe the vehicle as an SUV. Call 361-886-2600 if you have any information that could help detectives.
