An 86-year-old man was rushed to the hospital Friday afternoon after nearly drowning in the 1200 block of Hearn Road.
Police said the man was digging in his backyard working on a septic tank and somehow fell into the hole. Police do not know what happened right before he fell in the hole but do know the man's wife is the one who found him there.
"It was a medical issue or not. When we got here one of the neighbors had him already out of the water and was performing CPR. The officers took over CPR until medics got here," Lt. Chuck Freeman said.
The man was taken to Northwest Regional Hospital where his condition is unknown.
