The American Bank Center will be playing host to a winter wonderland Saturday as they offer open skating hours to the public.

The hours for open skating be from 1-3 p.m and 5-7 p.m. on Saturday. Open skating will cost $10 cash only (there's an ATM inside the arena if needed).

Individuals can enjoy hot chocolate and listen to Christmas music while skating.

"We opened it up for a few days at the holidays to give people an opportunity to come out and do something unique in South Texas," said IceRays Vice President Scott McClarren.

Organizers of the event advise guests to bring their own pair of socks and arrive early to the event as lines tend to get long. An adult/guardian must accompany any individual that is younger than 18, and the skaters must sign a waiver before hitting the ice.

Shoe sizes range from 8 juniors to 12 adults and individuals can choose from figure skates and hockey skates.

The IceRays will have a home game Dec. 28 and 29 with post skating following the game.
