For a child, foster care can be difficult process to go through, representatives with the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) try to make the transition into foster care as easy as possible.
On Friday, CASA opened up the first of it's kind Children's Room at the facility along the 2600 block of Prescott. A ribbon cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the opening. H-E-B Tournament of Champions Foundation Trustee's were on hand to help open up the new room.
The area will give children and their advocates the opportunity to spend time together enjoying interactive walls, gaming consoles, books and toys.
"Often times, these advocates are having difficult conversations in the middle of a busy park or restaurant. This room will offer a new privacy for sensitive discussions or some breathing room before a court hearing," CASA Executive Director, Page Hall.
The rooms has been years in planning and is ready to be reserved by CASA volunteers beginning this month.
