City employees seem to be understanding the need for the City to cut costs and still provide health insurance for its workers and their families.

The City's Human Resource Director outlined a new health insurance plan instituted for City workers last October.

Steve Viera said many workers switched to the less costly insurance on their own and have surprising projections on health costs for the City.

Viera said even though police and fire are on a different health plan, all employees have been helping by utilizing telemedicine services and reducing the costs of using emergency rooms for health care.
