The United Way of the Coastal Bend received an early Christmas gift Wednesday afternoon at City Hall.
A whopping $95,000 check was presented to the organization by City employees who raised the money. The utilities department came up with the most money for the campaign, which will help the United Way award grants to local non-profits.
The donation was also made possible through the support of the Texas Bridge Credit Union.
This past year, the United Way was able to provide 38 grants to local non-profits thanks to donations.
