According to the Center for Disease Control, nearly one million people in the world are treated for pneumonia every year and even more are diagnosed with influenza.
As an initiative to keep residents in the Coastal Bend healthy, Calvary First Baptist Church in Corpus Christi hosted and pneumonia and flu clinic. Various health organizations and hospitals attended to educate individuals on the illnesses and how they can protect themselves.
Professionals also offered flu vaccines to people of all ages. They urge everyone to get a flu shot because flu season isn't over.
