A strip of Comanche Street was closed to traffic Tuesday as crews from the City's Water Department began work to repair a ruptured 30-inch water main in its 2300 block.

Crews had to close off water valves from Old Robstown Road to Highway 286 to releive pressure on the water line. They said the work could take several hours, during which nearby residents may experience low-water pressure or no water at all.

Comanche Street from 19th Street to Port will be closed to traffic as crews make repairs to the water main.
