A few Flour Bluff Elementary students are celebrating Christmas earlier than usual because of local law enforcement. Students teamed up with officers for the annual Shop with a Cop event.
The program pairs officers up with children in need to go shopping for clothes, hygiene products, and a toy, all within a $125 budget.
"I've never shopped with an officer before. It makes me feel happy because they are being nice to all of us," third-grader Xayne Vega said.
Organizers with the program expect to help more families this year due to Hurricane Harvey.
