Renovation work is set to begin Thursday at the Kleberg County Courthouse. Windows will be replaced and asbestos will be removed.

"Now we were given clear instructions in Austin that, 'Hey, if you follow through with this and you guys get these windows restored, you're going to be in direct contention for total restoration,' which is my next project," Kleberg County Judge Rudy Madrid said.

It is believed that it will take over $8 million to fully renovate the courthouse.
