The people of Corpus Christi are paying their respects at the Dollar Cinema at the Sunrise Mall because Monday is the last day they will be able to see a movie there.

For so many people this dollar theatre has been a Corpus Christi staple their whole lives.

"It's just something that we've cherished since we were little kids," Daniel Gonzalez said.

To some it was an escape from reality for others, it was a chance to spend time with the ones they loved.

"The first movie I saw was with my mom, and that was Toy Story as a kid, so I remember coming to the theater and having a good time and being with my family," Gonzalez said.

Generation after generation came to watch their favorite characters on the silver screen.

"The cheap prices and all the different kind of movies that they had it was just a great option for everyone to be able to go to," Elizabeth Soliz said.

Moviegoers said the doors might come to a close but the memories of their times at the dollar theatre will always be with them.

"It's just a trip down memory lane," Gonzalez said. "It was something that we remembered as kids you know playing games getting snacks, so it was good just to do it one last time."

The show is not over for the Cinemark Dollar Theatre because they are still currently trying to look for a new location.
