A grand re-opening ceremony was held Thursday for a southside apartment complex that recently underwent quite the makeover.

The new Lexington Manor Apartments at Kostoryz and SPID provide affordable housing for around 60-percent of median income families in the area. Developers spent over $25 million to bring construction standards up to code and provide modern amenities for residents there.

Former Councilwoman Priscilla Leal was on hand for the ceremony. The community room at the property was named after her.
