CCISD Fuel Up To Play 60, Marathon Kids and Walk Across Texas kicked off the 5th Annual Mission FitPossible Fun Run/Walk at CCISD's Cabaniss Field Saturday morning.
Over 2,000 students participated in the two-mile run/walk. Fuel Up To Play 60 had their state ambassador, Alex Villarreal, a student at Hamlin Middle School, along with a former NFL player Roberto Garza, former player for the Chicago Bears, in attendance.
Roberto, a South Texas native and previous Texas A&M University-Kingsville football player, lead the students in football drills and even participated in a milk mustache contest. He also handed out medals at the closing ceremony to the top 30 runners.
The event is designed to get local students out being active and fit.
