Corpus Christi police were searching for a man Friday afternoon after he escaped another officer during a chase a short time earlier.

It happened around 2 p.m. along Gollihar and Weber.

Police received calls about a young man acting irrationally in the middle of the road. Officers then attempted to put him in handcuffs, but he escaped and ran off into a neighborhood. They believe he ran to a nearby home and escaped out the back, jumping fences before hiding in an alley.

The man was eventually spotted by police and captured at a nearby park. He was taken in for a medical evaluation and faces several charges, including escaping an officer.
