Several crews responded to a 400-acre brush fire south of Falfurrias on Saturday, January 13. Reports of a fire were called in around 2 P.M.; the Falfurrias Fire Department raced to the scene and immediately realized they would need the help of other fire departments in the area.
Officials with the Falfurrias Fire Department say the brush fire was burning 24 miles south of Falfurrias, off of FM 755.
Fire departments from Brooks, Kenedy, Kleberg, and Nueces county rushed to the scene in addition to the Texas Forestry Service and El Coyote Ranch.
It took the crews nearly six hours to completely distinguish the fire.
As of right now, no cause has been determined.
