Nueces County Sheriff's deputies wrangle horse on I-37

The Nueces County Sheriff's Office responded to the call and, rope in hand, corralled the horse to safety. It took them just about five minutes.

Corpus Christi police received a call around 7 a.m. Monday about a horse running loose on I-37.

The horse had apparently run away from its stable.

The Nueces County Sheriff's Office responded to the call and, rope in hand, corralled the horse to safety. It took them just about five minutes.

"Some of the deputies do have the ropes to corral the horses," Sgt. Salazar said. "Apparently the Sheriff's Office is responsible for any type of livestock, city or county."

The horse was taken into custody and investigators are looking for its owner.
