State and local experts have confirmed that our Coastal Bend waters are now free of the Red Tide.

The Red Tide was first reported back in September and now, Alex Nunez, a pollution biologist with Texas Parks and Wildlife said that no discolored water or fish kills have been reported in several weeks.

Dr. Paul Zimba, Director of the Center for Coastal Studies at Texas A&M Corpus Christi says this year's algae bloom was more short lived than most.

Zimba said that most people near Corpus Christi Bay complained of sore throats and irritation from this year's bloom because it was more noticeable than the bloom in the Gulf waters.
