One man is recovering Wednesday after being hit by a car on Port Avenue near Baldwin.
According to police, the man was leaving Whataburger in the morning and was crossing the street when a woman driving a Nissan hit him with her vehicle.
Police said since the driver of the Nissan did stop to render aid, and since the man was not using a crosswalk, no citation will be given to the driver.
"The citizens of Corpus Christi need to understand that if you're walking, and you're going to cross the street, you need to use the crosswalk," CCPD Officer Richard Olden said. "That is your protection. If you don't do that, you're at the mercy of that car. He did not receive a citation. I think his pride and a little bit of his body parts are hurt, so that was enough."
The man denied medical attention and is expected to be okay.
