The two incidents were just minutes apart at the Packery Channel and Bob Hall Pier.

Experts say it's important to remember that if you do get caught in a rip current, don't fight it! Instead swim parallel to the shore.

A former beach lifeguard with the US Lifesaving Association tells 3news that things can turn deadly in just seconds.
