A big gathering was held Tuesday at the San Patricio County Fairgrounds in Sinton as they held their annual awards luncheon.
"Our department heads, and our elected people recognize the fact that they can work somewhere else, but they chose to work with us," San Patricio County Judge Terry Simpson said.
Some 42 employees received service awards Tuesday for their many years of dedication to the job. The employees begin receiving the recognition after five years of service, and then they receive additional awards every five years after that.
One employee received their 8th award on Tuesday. That's 40 years of service.
