CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A man is now behind bars at the Nueces County jail after sending threatening messages to a county district court judge.
Judge Missy Medary says she received threatening messages from a defendant whose court case she was handling.
The suspect has been identified as Joshua John Buckingham. The U.S Marshals Service tracked him down after Medary reported the text messages.
Buckingham was charged with retaliation because of the accusation. He was facing two felony warrants in Medary's court for assault family violence, a previous conviction, and assault family violence impeding breath.
In one of the texts, he allegedly told Medary to remove the warrants against him for 'her own sake,' and is then said to have sent several more messages, one in which he said he would pull his knife on the first officer who comes after him.
