The Nueces County Sheriff's office has called in the Texas Rangers and the Attorney General to investigate after questionable ballots and signatures were found for this year's general elections.

Nueces County Clerk Kara Sands said that many of the ballots indicate voter harvesting, which is a term used to describe people who go into a neighborhood or nursing home and sign up or fill out requests for mail-in ballots. For the past three weeks, Sands and members of the review board have been pouring over mail-in votes.

It is not illegal to assist people in filling out their mail-in ballot requests, but it is unethical, if not against the law, to vote for someone who is not within their mental capacity to cast a ballot.
