Lanes near Old Shoreline Boulevard will rep-open during the holidays so city officials can monitor traffic flow.
The area has been closed off for more than two years but drivers can expect to see people counting the number of vehicles that travel the scenic route.
Mayor Joe McComb has raised concern over the lane closures during city meetings.
In an article posted to the Caller Times, McComb states the closures along with newly placed gates at Coopers Alley have caused drivers to make an unnecessary right turn.
McComb goes on to say that the gates were not authorized to be placed in the area. Assistant City Manager, Keith Stelman is investigating the matter.
