A disabled American veteran's local chapter invited veterans and individuals in need to join them Thursday for a hot Thanksgiving dinner at the Nueces County Courthouse.
Men and women with the group along with their family members handed out warm meals.
One veteran said they did not have the turnout they expected, but they are happy to help anyone who has served the community.
"We were coming over here to help them, to serve them and talk to them, and advise them," Korean War veteran Vicente Ramirez said.
Ramirez is one the many members who regularly volunteers at the Veterans Affair Clinic. His mission is to get all disabled veterans the help that they need.
