Construction on a new steel plant in Gregory-Portland has come to an end, making today the grand opening. The governor, county judge, and the CEO of the Port of Corpus Christi have all been invited to the event.

The plant, which cost an estimated $800 million dollars to construct, will be the biggest investment any Austrian company has made in the U.S.

Voestalpine is known for producing steel for railroads, aviation, and construction.
