Water Walk Corpus Christi is a fundraiser where 100-percent of the proceeds to toward water quality in under-developed areas.
The organizer said he got the idea because of our own recent water woes here in the Coastal Bend. The all-ages event is a two-mile walk starting at the Water Garden and ending at the T-Heads on Shoreline Boulevard. The catch -- you have to carry water while you walk (and no wheels allowed!).
All it takes to participate is a $20 donation, and bring your own water container. There will be food, live music, games and even yoga, which starts at 9 a.m.
The event begins at 9 a.m. Saturday, and the walk begins at 10 a.m. You can register online or in person the day of the event.
