A young woman was left in critical condition Tuesday morning after police say she tried to stop a moving vehicle in the 2500 block of Crestlea Drive and suffered a wound to her head.
It was around 2 a.m. when police responded to a disturbance in the area. There they found the 21-year-old victim unconcious with a cut to her head. She was taken to Christus Spohn Memorial Hospital.
Police said another 21-year-old woman who was with the victim said there was an argument at the beach earlier and the argument continued when they returned to the residence. The woman said she decided to leave when the argument got physical, but the victim stood in front of her vehicle to stop her from driving off.
The woman said she drove around the victim but moments later heard a scream and realized the victim had jumped on her car. She stopped the vehicle and found the victim in the roadway. She then loaded the victim back in the car and took her back to the residence where she called police.
The incident is still under investigation.
