The 15-year old boy who was hit by a vehicle while crossing the street Monday morning is now listed in critical but stable condition, as of Tuesday.

The accident happened just before 8 a.m. Monday along the 2600 block of Ruth Street. Police said the Miller High School student, Brian Bedford, was on his way to a friend's house when he was hit by a sport utility vehicle.

The driver of that SUV said the sun was in her eyes and she didn't see the boy.

Two extra counselors were on hand for students at Miller on Tuesday.
