ROUND ROCK (Kiii Sports) - The Moody Trojans will play for a State Championship on Friday night after posting a 3-2 win over Whitehouse in a Class 4A Semifinal at Dell Diamond in Round Rock on Thursday evening.

The Trojans never trailed in a tight game that featured uncharacteristic fielding misplays and a controversial interference call that took a Moody run off the board in the 5th inning.

Moody put the game on ice in the 6th inning as Johnny Gonzalez came racing home on an error to score the final run in a 3-2 win over the Wildcats.

Kenny Saenz went the distance and struck out 8 Whitehouse batters.

Moody will play Tomball for the state title at 7pm on Friday night. Chris Thomasson will again provide live coverage during the 5, 6, and 10pm newscasts.
