The winds made it a great day to set sail especially for those taking part in the 52nd annual Navy Regatta!
Corey Harding who raced in the Regatta said, "had good wind. Bunch of good races nobody got hurt. I don't think anybody broke anything."
This was Eric Negron first time to set sail. Negron said, " it was a great experience. Normally I do kite boarding. It was a fun experience."
Today, the Naval Air Station Corpus Christi -- along with the Corpus Christi Yacht Club and Bay Yacht Club, hosted the annual event which goes on through tomorrow at the downtown marina along Shoreline.
Sailors teamed up with members of the military.
Organizers say it's a great way for the community to get to know some of those men and women serving in the military.
