A major new housing project for homeless residents is set to be built near City Hall in conjunction with the Good Samaritan Rescue Mission, which will also be moving to the new location.
In fact, it will be called the Good Sam Village. Folks at the shelter had been searching for funding for some time, and they say a donor has come forward to make it all a reality.
The new site will be the old MG Builders Lumber Yard between Alameda and Staples Street, just down the block from City Hall. The place is coming down to make way for a multimillion dollar complex that will house a new Good Samaritan Rescue Mission headquarters.
