Plenty of your neighbors got a sneak peek at the brand new Sam's Club on Wednesday, a day before its official grand opening.

The store opened its doors for a preview to allow members and non-members a chance to check out the new location off SPID near Everhart. A continuous flow of shoppers paid a visit, some leaving with baskets full of stuff, and others pushing around empty cars, just so they could get a look inside.

"It's got a nice layout. Everything looks clean and newer, easier to find things," shopper Shelby Trodden said.

"It's a beautiful store," shopper Lupe Barrera said. "Everything within reach."

Inside, you can find just about everything you can imagine, and in bulk -- from groceries to the latest tech toys. There were also several sample stations to grab a bite, including one where an artist wasn't simply handing out cheese blocks, but she was creating art at the same time.

Wednesday's soft opening gave an army of employees a chance to test everything out before the official grand opening on Thursday. Store officials say that so far, everything has been going well.

"We've been serving the community for 28 years now, and this offers all the new and greatest Sam's has to offer, so it was time to give back to the community," Sam's Club Manager Stephanie Calderon said. "Also, being in the retail mecca of Corpus is a fantastic thing for us."

Of course, the store replaces the old location off Greenwood, which is now closed as a result.

A grand opening ceremony will take place at 8 a.m. Thursday, and the public is invited to attend.
