According to officials at the Padre Island National Seashore, the oil cleanup efforts are wrapping up and as of Friday morning, the northern section of beach at the National Seashore has been reopened to drivers.

That section includes the stretch of beach from the area of Bob Hall Pier through Malaquite Beach.

The southern section of the National Seashore, stretching about 60 miles south toward the Mansfield jetties, will be reopened to drivers Saturday morning.
